This will be a series of standalone books. Each book will be based on the premise that when people die, they go to a place where they are offered the chance to live a new life in a different time, as a different person. Most say yes.
Book 1: Edward and the Luthier
Edward is a flawed and bitter man. He dies and awakens in a place outside of time. Edward is given the opportunity to live another life but has no say in when, what, or who that life will be. He agrees and is sent back to Earth, to a time hundreds of years in the past, where he lives and works as a luthier named Thomas. A luthier is a craftsman who makes stringed instruments out of the perfect kind of wood. But Thomas is more flawed than Edward ever was, and now Edward is faced with living a life even more regrettable than his first one. Then something extraordinary happens.
